Die US-Serie History of the World: Part II setzt den Kultfilm „History of the World, Part I“ von Mel Brooks aus dem Jahr 1981 fort. In Sketchen wird auf amüsante Weise erzählt Weltgeschichte. In Brooks' Fußstapfen folgt nun eine Truppe rund um Wanda Sykes (Black-ish), Nick Kroll (Big Mouth) und Ike Barinholtz (The Afterparty). In der Sequel-Serie geht es diesmal um historische Persönlichkeiten wie die Schwarze US-Politikerin Shirley Chisholm, General Grant (der später auch Präsident der Vereinigten Staaten wurde) sowie um den russischen Kommunisten Trotzki.
